Curriculum

 

CMC Internal Medicine Residency offers a comprehensive education encompassing the full spectrum of internal medicine gaining experience and proficiency in settings from a community based hospital to a large academic center.  We offer a robust board review curriculum to prepare you for your boards.


All residents will attend two months of clinic during each year of training in order to gain experience in the outpatient primary care setting. Here, residents will focus on preventive care, long term management of chronic medical conditions, and acute care visits.

Keck Medicine of USC Affiliation 

We are excited to offer our residents the opportunity to rotate at Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital for the following rotations:

  • Hospital Medicine
  • Cardiology: Heart Failure and Critical Care 
  • Cardiology: Consult Service 
  • Medical Intensive Care
  • Infectious Diseases 
  • Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism

  • Emergency Medicine - 1 month



Second Year

  • General Inpatient Medicine - 4 months
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit - 2 months
  • Hematology/Oncology - 1 month
  • Neurology - 1 month
  • Endocrinology - 2 weeks
  • Infectious Disease - 2 weeks
  • Clinic - 2 months
  • Elective or GI- 1 month

Third Year

  • General Inpatient Medicine - 4 months
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit - 1 month
  • Geriatrics - 1 month
  • Rheumatology - 1 month
  • Cardiology USC - 1 month
  • Nephrology USC - 1 month 
  • Clinic - 2 months
  • Elective or GI- 1 month
